KosherKocktails: A Patriotic "Porch Rose" for Memorial Day
By Robin Tim Weis
Thanks to the courageous men and women who served our country, we are fortunate to
embrace Memorial Day weekends without a worry on our minds. To help you reign in your special red, white and blue weekend, Fig Tree Vine is putting a frozen kosher spin on your favorite summer wine; rosé. Pick your favorite rosé (we recommend the fruity Kosher certified 2012 vintage rosé from Galil Mountain) and get ready to blend! We call this "Porch Rose" as it's perfect for kicking back on your porch.
1 bottle 2012 vintage rosé from Galil Mountain
3 oz simple syrup
3 oz fresh lemon juice
Splash of sweet red Vermouth
Lemon rind & cherries, raspberries and/or blueberries for garnish
Pour your entire bottle of rose into an ice cube rack and freeze overnight.
Blend the rose ice cubes, simple syrup & lemon juice till smooth. Pour into a lowball tumbler glass, splash with some sweet red vermouth (alternatively use Campari) and garnish with a lemon rind and the berries of your patriotic liking. The bolder, the better!
