KosherKocktails: Take Our "Tzimmes in a Glass" Dockside

With carrots available everywhere in farmer's markets and juicing all the rage, we decided to re-invent Tzimmes -- the kosher staple side dish -- in liquid form. Fresh carrot juice is infused with cinnamon and nutmeg with a kick of gin.

4.5 oz fresh carrot juice
0.5 simple syrup
0.5 oz lime juice
Egg white from 1 egg
2-3 dashes of cinnamon
Whole nutmeg
1.5 oz dry gin

Add the fresh carrot juice, simple syrup, lime juice, egg white, cinnamon, and gin to a cocktail shaker and fill halfway with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into your chilled wine glass. Grate nutmeg with a microplane over your cocktail.
