KosherKocktails: Celebrate Israel's Victory in Rio with Our "L’ChaimPirinha"
By Robin Tim Weis
Fig Tree & Vine sends its congratulations to Yarden Gerbi, the mighty Israeli female judoka warrior who became the first Israeli to win a medal at the Olympics since the 2008 games in Beijing. To commemorate the occasion, and to cheer on team Israeli, we decided to dye the classic Brazilian caipirinha in Israeli colors. Here’s to Hatz'lachah in Rio!
2-3 tsp brown sugar
Big bushel of mint
Juice of one lime
0.5 oz blue Curacao
Muddle two handfuls of mint leaves with your sugar and lime juice on the bottom of your cocktail shaker. Fill your shaker with ice and add the cachaça. Shake vigorously for ten seconds and strain into a champagne flute lined with crushed ice. Garnish with mint and top off with blue Curacao to color your caipirinha in Israeli colors!
