KosherKocktails: Pump up the Jam with "Cookie Sheet"
By Robin Tim Weis
This is the time of year when folks start sending -- and giving -- a lot of fancy jams. But unless you're a jam devotee or regularly host tea parties, it can take a long time to get through a single jar of jam.
To help with the seasonal jam overflow, we've created a cocktail we call "Cookie Sheet." Your leftover jam, when paired with a bold plum brandy and a floral rosemary gin, will complement perfectly all the spiced bake goods that are also abundant during the holidays.
Per drink:0.5 oz Rosemary gin (Infuse rosemary twigs in your gin of choice for one week)
0.5 oz Plum brandy, we recommend the Kosher Slivovitz
1 teaspoon of apricot jam
Juice of half a lemon
Combine your apricot jam, rosemary gin, plum brandy, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill your shaker halfway with ice and shake vigorously for ten seconds. Strain into a cocktail coupe glass.
